James Ignatius Plunkett James I. Plunkett, 73 year old resident of Anchorage, Alaska died September 3 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 12 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father. Mark Innocenti officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady Lourdes Parish Cemetery. Friends may gather from 10 AM until the hour of service at the church. James was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 31, 1935 to the late Christopher and Mary (Curran) Plunkett. He graduated from St. Peters Boys High School Staten Island, New York numerous electronic schools while in the Navy Graduated from University of Alaska, Anchorage in 1972 with a B.S. in mathematics. James enlisted in the United State Navy and served his country for 20 years. He was united in marriage to Margaret Wielinski on August 25, 1962 in San Diego, CA. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, James worked as an oilfield electrical/electronic technician for Cook Inlet pipeline at Drift River Operated by Mobile Oil and Unocal Oil from 1974 until 2000. Jim was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandpa, uncle, brother-in-law and friend of the underdog. Anyone who knew him loved him and respected him. He was very proud of his Irish Heritage. James is survived by his wife, Margaret "Maggie" (Wielinski) Plunkett of Anchorage, AK; son, Christopher and wife, JarasseangKhamme, daughter, Christina Cattanae and husband, Robert; sister, Mary Rakieki and 5 grand children. brother-in-law, Joe Wielinski and wife, Margaret, of Little Falls, MN; sisters-in-law, Barbara Szakasits and Genevive Kesslerof San Diego, CA, Lucille Wimmer and husband, Leonard, of Pierz, MN. He was preceded in death by parents, Christopher and Mary Plunkett; Brother, Christopher and Sister, Eileen Plunkett.
