Irene McDougall

Irene McDougall, 81 , of Brooklyn Park, died peacefully on Monday, February 18 surrounded by family. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3rd from2-6 P.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral home, 900 1st street SE, Little Falls, MN. Chaplain Gregg Valentine will be officiating. The burial will be at 10:00 A.M. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls on Monday, March 4. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Irene Marie Gottwalt was born February 18, 1938 in Rice, MN to the late Paul and Ottilia(Philippi) Gottwalt. She grew up in the Rice area and attended school in St. Cloud. Irene was united in marriage to Donald McDougall on August 15, 1959 and the couple made their home in Minneapolis for 40 years until moving to Brooklyn Center. She treasured her time with family and friends at the cabin on the Mississippi River near Little Falls. Irene enjoyed reading, gardening and fishing.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda McDougall of Bloomington, Denise (Rob) Lee of Randall, Greg (DeeDee) McDougall of Rogers; grandchildren, Tim and Jessica McDougall, Chad, Justin and Miranda Belanger; great-grandchildren, Easton and Maxwell McDougall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald McDougall on September 16, 2008; son-in-law, Jim Taylor; several brothers and sisters
