Inga Joan Smith

Inga J. Smith, 100 year old resident of Fargo, ND formerly of Little Falls, MN died February 14 at the Elim Care Center in Fargo, ND. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 19 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls at 1:00 P.M. with Chaplain Gregg Valentine officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Friends and Family may call from 12:00-1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. Inga Joan Flack was born May 4, 1910 in Little Falls, MN to the late John Elias Flack and Inga Marie (Halseth) Flack. She grew up in Little Falls and graduated from Little Falls High School. After completing high school, she attended St. Cloud Beauty College. When she received her beautician's license she returned to Little Falls where she worked at Cora's Beauty Parlor for several years. She met Robert E. Smith Sr. and the couple was married in 1933 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in Little Falls where they owned and operated Mobil Oil. Inga and Robert enjoyed spending time together at their lake home in Nevis, MN. Robert died in 1987. Inga continued living in Little Falls, MN until moving to Fargo, ND in 2004 to be close to her son, Robert. Inga was a member of First English Lutheran Church while living in Little Falls. She was very active in the church teaching Bible school and serving as an officer in the church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Inga enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and spending time with her son, Robert and his family. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert and wife, Sharon, of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Julie Smith, Kristopher Smith, Eric Smith and Kirk Smith; great-grandchildren, Helena Smith, Gabriella Smith, Isabella Smith, Ian Smith, Austin Smith and Logan Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Elias Flack and Inga Marie (Halseth) Flack; husband, Robert E. Smith, Sr.; sisters, Ann Flack-Davis, Bobby Flack-Betlock, Irene Flack-Eckman, Elsie Flack Melberg and Alice Flack-Lund.
