Hironori Osanai was born on January 9, 1949 in Hirosaki, Japan to the late Ojiisan and Obaasan (Japanese for Grandfather and Grandmother, which is what they were always referred to as) Osanai. He was united in marriage to Margaret Anne Rebischke. The couple made their home in the Twin Cities area. Hironori received a Degree in Electrical Engineering from Nihon University. He would later move to the United States to work on his Masters in Electrical Engineering at NDSU. He worked as an engineer much of his life and later worked at The Heathers assisted living. He enjoyed conversations with the residents and this was especially helpful after the death of his wife. It was also there that he met a special friend in Pamelyn Frey whom he would enjoy time with until her passing.
Hironori enjoyed writing, art, and poetry and authored the book 'Meriken Haiku'. Cooking Japanese food was something else he enjoyed, with some of the family favorites being Sukiyaki, Tonkatsu and fried wontons. He enjoyed summers at the cabin with friends and family, boating, fishing, hunting and sitting around the campfire telling stories. He loved listening and singing to his favorite band 'The Doors'. He later enjoyed playing chess and cards. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters Breanna and Caitlyn, whom he was so proud of.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Joel (Jenny) Osanai of New Hope; grandchildren, Breanna and Caitlyn Osanai of New Hope; brother, Kenji Osanai of Hirosaki, Japan, brother in law Douglas Rebishke, sister in law Eleanor (Rebischke) Jacobsen and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; mother and father in law, John G. and Eleanor (Folsom) Rebischke, brother in laws, John and David Rebischke, and his 'second son' Randolph Johnson.
