Hilarion Nelson

Hilarion Anna Nelson, 82, of Little Falls, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service with be held on Wednesday, September 17 at 11:00 at Little Falls Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.Pastor Phil Ronzheimer will be officiating.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the Little Falls Alliance Church.A private burial will follow at a later date.

Hilarion was born on June 19, 1932 to Jack and Emma (Hoheisel) Grell.She was married to Ed Gateley in 1951 and was later divorced.She was married to Robert Nelson, Sr. on November 18, 1954.They were married for 35 years.

She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years.She and Bob also owned Big Bobs Bar in Royalton for five years.She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, sporting events, and spending time with her family and friends.

Hilarion is survived by three children Bruce (Pat) Gateley of Crosslake, MN; Bob, Jr. (Carolyn) Nelson of Sartell, MN; and Bev (Bob) DeWaard of Johnston, IA.She has five grandchildren Andrea (Nick) White of Maple Grove, MN; Kirk (Andrea) Nelson of Augusta, MN; Jenny (Tyler) Goodman of Grimes, IA; Jennifer DeWaard of Nashville, TN; and Mike (Megan) Traxel of Ames, IA.She also has six great grandchildren Izaac, Nicky, Tommy, Ben, Lily, and Madeline.She is also survived by two brothers Gene (Jewell) Grell of Little Falls, MN; and John (Margie) Grell of Brainerd, MN; and a sister-in-law Bernie Grell of Little Falls, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Nelson, parents Jack and Emma Grell, brother Rod Grell, sister Sylvia Grittner, and son-in-law Gene Traxel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital Home Care & Hospice.
