Herbert Leidenfrost

Herbert Leidenfrost, 92 year old resident of Pierz, MN, died Friday, January 2 at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 8 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with father Kenneth Popp officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Thursday at the church. The military rites will be conducted by the Pierz American Legion Post #341.

Herbert was born on December 14, 1922 in Agram Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Fred and Angela (Kippley) Leidenfrost.He attended District #46 country school until the eighth grade. He served his country in the United States Navy from March 12, 1945 until he was honorably discharged on July 11, 1946.He returned home and began farming in Agram Township where he farmed for over 46 years.Herb enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, card playing and bird watching. He was a member of the Farmers Union, the Pierz American Legion and St. Josephs Catholic Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Leon (Josephine) Leidenfrost of Pierz, MN; sister-in-law, Neddie Leidenfrost of Buckman, MN;21 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Angela Leidenfrost; siblings, Carl Leidenfrost, Alvin Leidenfrost, Rita Streasick and Clara Zimny; brothers-in-law, Leo Streasick and Isador Zimny.

Casket Bearers will be: Bob Leidenfrost, Bill Leidenfrost, Tom Leidenfrost, Bob Streasick, Dan Zimny, Mike Zimny.
