Gregory "Greg" Larson

Gregory Greg Larson, 65-year-old resident of Little Falls, MN died Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.

Visitation will be held at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 4pm-8pm.

Visitation will continue at 10am on Friday, January 3, 2014 at First United Church in Little Falls, MN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on January 3rd at First United Church in Little Falls with a meal following the service.

Gregory Kelly Larson was born November 23, 1948 in Thief River Falls, MN to the late Justus and Violet Larson.Greg grew up in Thief River Falls, MN and graduated from Lincoln High School.Greg worked at his family's business, Larson Music and was an avid golfer.He joined the Air National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1976.Greg graduated from St. Johns University in 1970 with his undergraduate degree in psychology.He received his Juris Doctorate from Notre Dame Law School in 1973.

Greg clerked for the Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Fallon Kelly before beginning his law career in Duluth, MN for the St. Louis County Attorneys Office.He became Chief Prosecutor of the St. Louis County Attorney's Office in Virgina, MN.Greg came to Little Falls the late seventies and became a partner in a law practice and also served as the Assistant County Attorney for Morrison County.He ultimately became sole owner of the firm and built a strong practice specializing in criminal defense law.He and his wife, Marcy (Janashak) were married in 1981.

In his youth, Greg spent much of his time playing golf and curling.Greg was an active member of the Little Falls Lions Club and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Penelope.When alone, he quietly loved watching the birds at the feeders and the antics of the squirrels and bunnies.He especially loved his runs in the woods on his golf cart with his dog, Sadie.When with others he was well known for his gregarious demeanor, quick wit and room-filling laugh.

Greg was preceded in death by Justus, Violet and Jon Larson.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marcy of Little Falls, MN; son, Brandon & Marion (Voigt) Larson of St. Augusta, MN; granddaughter Penelope Larson; brothers Brian & Kim Larson of Greeley, CO and Mark & Jean Larson of Thief River Falls, MN; and sister-in-law Valerie & Roger Heyn of Thief River Falls, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
