Gordon Koval

d. December 31, 2010

Gordon "Gordy" Koval, age 51, of Little Falls, MN, died unexpectedly Friday, December 31, 2010 at his home. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00pm Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A private interment will be held at a later date. Gordy was born March 17th, 1959 in Little Falls to Michael and Pauline (Golombiecki) Koval and grew up on the family farm by Randall. He graduated from Little Falls Community High School and continued at Staples Technical College in the Diesel Mechanic program. Gordy was passionate about fixing tractors for others and loved the challenge. He always used his beloved Snap-On tools as he went from farm to farm repairing. He had a chance for a career change and turned to raising turkeys for many years and he gained such a passion for it. Gordy enjoyed hunting all his life and had always brought home his game; he had collected many rifles to catch the trophy bucks. There had been many travels to the state parks and a few trips out to Montana to hike the trails with the kids. Tracy, Mitchell and Christopher; his children, meant the world to Gordy. If you did or didn't; either way you were going to hear the latest of their activities in any friendly conversation, especially the pride he took in Mitch and Chris being in the forces, Marines and Air Force. Gordy will be dearly missed and will be remembered as a great friend. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Tracy (Brian) Scherping, of Long Prairie, Mitchell (Sonia) Koval, of San Clemente, CA, and Christopher Koval of Anchorage, AK, his mother, Pauline Koval of Little Falls, sisters; Dorothy (Jerry) Smude of Little Falls, Mary (Ted) Pietrowski of Sobieski, Patti (Ronnie) Kaiser of Little Falls, brothers; Larry (Bev) Koval of Madelia, Jerome (Mary) Koval of Randall and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Koval and two infant sisters.
