Gloria Raye Fillah

Gloria R. Fillah, age 71 of Royalton, MN passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 at her home in Royalton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Nathan Bjorge officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Friends may call from 12:00-1:00 P.M. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Gloria Raye Fillah was born May 14, 1938 in Parkston, SD to the late John and Martha (Drefts) Boettcher. She grew up in Delmont, SD on the family farm and attended country school, graduating from Delmont High School with the Class of 1956. Gloria attended trade school in Sioux City, IA. Following trade school, she moved to Washington, DC where she worked in Civil Service at the Pentagon. Gloria was united in marriage to Nicholas Fillah on June 2, 1962 in Arlington, VA. Following their marriage, Gloria and Nick lived in Virginia until 1978 at which time they moved to Royalton, MN. Gloria worked at United Mailing, Sanitary Bakery and Community Federal Savings and Loan as a receptionist/secretary retiring in 2005. She enjoyed horseback riding, animals, gardening and was a sponsor for the Christian Children's Fund for many years. Gloria was a member of First Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Julia (Dirk) Crockett of East Bethel, Mn, Tina (Robert) Carroll of Eagan, MN, John Fillah of St. Cloud, MN, Glorie (David) Forliti of Buffalo, NY, Kimberly (Terry) Horgan of Grand Blanc, MI; step-son, Charles Nicholas (Carolina) Fillah of Oak Island, NC; siblings, Alan (Develle) Boettcher of Indiana, Carol (Gary) Alves of California, Kenneth (JoAnne) Boettcher of South Dakota; Brother-in-law, Tom Schoenfelder of St. Joseph, MN; 12 granddchildren and one great-grandchild.. She was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas (Nick) on April 26, 2001; parents, John & Martha Boettcher; sister, Eileen Schoenfelder & a brother, Jim Boettcher. Casket bearers are Blake Carroll, Adam Schneider, Nicole Schneider, Cami Taylor, Amy Carlson,Brenton Carroll and Zach Miller.
