Gladys Coenen, age 99, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN, with Rachel Flogstad-Heise officiating. Burial will be in Elmdale Lutheran Cemetery in Elmdale, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:30 - 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls, Mn. Gladys was born on April 24, 1913 in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late John O. and Lena (Gregerson) Booth. She grew up on the farm in Swan River Township and attended country school and graduated from Royalton High School. She was united in marriage to Leo W. Coenen on July 24, 1934. The couple made their home in Little Falls where they lived all their married life. Gladys and her husband, Leo, managed the Little Falls Golf course for several years. They also operated a sewing machine and fabric store in Falls Court in Little Falls. Gladys enjoyed writing, sewing, hosting get-togethers at her home and volunteering many hours at the Lutheran Care Center. She was also involved in the community serving as a guide at the Dewey Radke house, working with the Morrison County Historical Society speaking to students in the area about local history, was a member of the Grey Ladies and served on the Lincoln PTA. She was nominated for "Outstanding Senior Citizen of Morrison County". Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Dale (Marlis) Coenen of Little Falls; grandchildren, Amy (David) Main, Michael (Tehout) Coenen, Dennis (Sandi) Dickson, Debbie (DeWayne) Matthews, Dawn (Randy) Golombecki, Diane (Phil) Solem, Denise Silvers; 16 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo (1976); daughter, Johnita Dickson (1993); siblings, Clarence Booth, Fredrick Booth and Fern Scepurek.
