Gertrude Sherwood

Gertrude Sherwood, age 92, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Jeremy Ploof officiating.Interment will be in St. Adalberts Cemetery in Little Falls.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 11:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls.

Gertrude Rose Miller was born on November 14, 1922, in Little Falls, Minnesota the daughter of John & Victoria (Knoll) Miller.She grew up on a farm in the Freedhem area where she attended country school before moving to Little Falls.She was united in marriage to Lester Sherwood on September 14, 1942, in Little Falls.The couple made their home in Little Falls where they raised their family.She enjoyed gardening, flowers, country music, canning, playing cards and games with her family.Gertrude was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma.She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Diane Hankes of Little Falls, MN, Robert Sherwood of Royalton, MN, David (Sharon) Sherwood of Zimmerman, MN, and Donald (Mary) Sherwood of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Richard (Sue) Miller of Little Falls and Margaret March of Buffalo, MN; grandchildren, Steve Hankes, Mark Hankes, Tonya (Scott) Lardy, Renate Alvord, Rob Sherwood, Brian (Pam) Sherwood, Mike (Angie) Sherwood, Nina Sherwood, Sam (Lisa) Sherwood, James (Joy) Sherwood, Laura (Rod) Boll; 18 great-grandchildren.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester (2003); brothers, Edmund, Raymond, Robert, Fred, Jerome, LeRoy Miller and sister, Jeanette Peckels.
