Gertrude Ann Stegora

Gertrude Ann Stegora, age 88, of Pierz, MN died January 3, 2007 at Pierz Villa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, with Fr. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Interment will be at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Gertrude Ann Goedker was born on October 26, 1918 in Bagley, Minnesota to Joseph and Francis Goedker. She lived her younger years in Bagley until her family moved to the Brainerd area. She grew up around the Brainerd area and attended school until she had to quit and help take care of her family. She had five sisters, Henrietta, Mary, Florence, Margaret & Josephine; two brothers Herman & Walter; two half sisters, Caroline & Katherine and two half brothers, Edward and Mike. She married Sylvester Leo Stegora on May 18, 1946 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding. They lived on the Stegora family farm until they moved to Pierz Villa in 1992. Sylvester passed away on February 22, 1996 and she continued to reside at Pierz Villa until her death on January 3, 2007. Gertrude is survived by her children, Sylvester "Si" (Mary) Stegora of Brainerd, MN; Daniel "Butch" (Darlene) Stegora of St. Paul, MN; Josephine (Harvey) Donek of Pierz, MN; granddaughters, Brenda (Rod) Baker of Brainerd, MN; Paula (Bob) Walsh of Pierz, MN; Ashley Donek of Pierz, MN; Brittany Stegora of Brainerd, MN; grandsons, Louis (Dannielle) Donek of Pierz, MN; Conway Donek of Brainerd, MN; Troy (Pam) Stegora of Fort Ripley, MN; Todd (Tanya) Stegora of Merrifield, MN; and many great grandchildren. Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Mary, Florence & Margaret; brothers, Walter & Herman; two step-sisters, Caroline & Katherine & step-brothers, Edward & Mike and grandson, Travis Stegora.
