Germaine Hayes

Germaine "Jane" S. Hayes, age 68 of Hillman, MN, passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital as a result of lung cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman, MN with Father Greg Poser officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Monday and 8:00 A.M.-10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN. Parish Prayers will be said at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral chapel. Germaine "Jane" S. Hayes was born December 11, 1942 in Hillman, Morrison County, MN to the late George and Appolonia (Gast) Bleichner. She grew up in Hillman where she attended school. Following her schooling Germaine worked at Sears in Minneapolis, MN. She was united in marriage to Marvin A. Hayes on November 21, 1960 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman. Following their marriage, Germaine "Jane" and Marvin lived on the Hayes family dairy farm in Hillman where she resided until her death. She also worked at Izaty's in Onamia, MN and at the Bear Trax Store in Hillman, MN until her retirement in 2008. Germaine "Jane" enjoyed fishing, garage sales, farmers markets, cooking, baking, watching the Minnesota Twins, antiquing and camping. Her family and friends were everything to her as was her dog, Cocoa. She was the best wife and mother anyone could ask for. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Marvin A. Hayes; children, Marvin Jr. (Evy) Hayes of Chisago City, MN, Marilyn Hayes of Harding, MN, Donald (Debbie) Hayes of Hillman, MN, Carol (Brian) Wacker of Pierz, MN and James (Melody) Hayes of Hillman, MN; sisters, Delores Iverson of Princeton, MN, Marie Howard of Hillman, MN and Betty Block of Hillman, MN; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Appolonia Bleichner; siblings, Elaine Bleichner, George Bleichner, Dorothy Virnig, Don Bleichner, Angie Virnig and Bill Bleichner. Casket Bearers are Marvin Hayes, Jr., Donald Hayes, James Hayes, Brian Wacker, Jeff Hoffman and Marcus Hayes.
