Geraldine L. Wiczek

Geraldine Louise Wiczek, age 85 of Little Falls, MN formerly of Pierz, MN passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 at her home in Little Falls in the care of her family members and Unity Family Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Friends may call Thursday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Friday from 8:00-11:00 A.M. at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. Parish prayers will be said at 5:30 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral chapel. Geraldine L. (Witt) Wiczek was born February 23, 1924 in Little Falls, Morrison County, MN to the late John J. and Rose M. (Mitchell) Witt. She attended and graduated from Little Falls High School with the Class of 1942. She attended Brainerd Junior College for LPN training in 1971. She was united in marriage to Eugene Wiczek at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Following their marriage, the couple lived on the west side of Little Falls and later on Pierz Fish Lake. Geraldine worked at AMF Crestliner Boats in Little Falls for ten years. She volunteered for the Morrison County Food Shelf where she served as director from 1983-1998. She also volunteered as an income tax assistant. Her husband, Eugene, died in 1993. Following his death, Geraldine continued to live on Pierz Fish Lake until 2005, when she moved to Little Falls. Geraldine loved to garden, go to garage sales, travel to many destinations including the Dominican Republic in 2006, Las Vegas, Reno, Florida and Arizona. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls and was a life member of the Little Falls V.F.W. Post #1112 Auxiliary. She loved her friends at Ann Marie Circle and especially her grandchildren and grandson, Jack. Geraldine is survived by her sons & daughters, Gene (Barbara) Wiczek of St. Michael, MN, Jeffrey Wiczek & friend, Maggie Merling, of Jacksonville, FL, Diana (Neil) Spaulding of Las Vegas, NV, Patricia (Jon) Scholten of Vadnais Heights, MN, Rebecca Wiczek of Gary, ID; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 1993; parents, John & Rose Witt; brother, Richard Witt and an infant sister, Irene Witt.
