George Schommer,Jr.

George Schommer, Jr., 61 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died February 11 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 16 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. Friends may gather from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home. A burial will be held privately. The family request memorials. George Schommer was born August 8, 1951 to the late George Sr. and Anna (Fischer) Schommer. He was raised in Lastrup, MN. He attended Pierz High School graduating in 1970. He enlisted in the Army National Guard on October 2, 1971 in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. He was honorably discharged on February 12, 1972. He was united in marriage to Patricia Gast in September 28, 1973. The couple later divorced. After his military duty, George returned to Morrison County and worked at Camp Ripley for 10 years. He then worked for Larson Boat Works in Little Falls, MN. George was currently working for Regal Contractors in St. Cloud, MN for 16 years. George enjoyed fishing, trips to the casino, building sets for the community theatre, working in his yard, boating, water-skiing and watching the Minnesota Twins. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jason Schommer, Melissa (Richard) Linares, Jeremy (Monica) Schommer and Natalie (Adam) Love; grandchildren, Isabella Linares, Miguel Linares and Kayden Schommer; significant other Deb Manlick; siblings, Norman (Janet) Schommer, Vernald (JoAnn) Schommer, Mary Ann Muehlbauer, Lorraine Valentine, Kenneth (Diane) Schommer, Alice (Eugene) Baniecke, Marvin (Dorine) Schommer, Elaine (Robert) Litke, Milton Schommer. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna Schommer; wife, Patricia Kapsner-Schommer; siblings, Melvin Schommer, Lucille Rudolph, Harlan Schommer, Marlene Zehnle.
