George Gammon

June 29, 1937 — June 22, 2014

George Gammon, age 76, of Lake Shamineau, formerly of Little Falls, MN, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing and Fr. Joe Korf con-celebrating.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 26that Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls with a parish prayer service at 5:00 P.M.

Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, June 27thfrom 9:00 10:30 A.M.

George Gammon was born on June 29, 1937 in Little Falls, Minnesota the son of Lee & Annette (Marotte) Gammon.He grew up in Little Falls where he attended school and graduated with the Class of 1956.Following his schooling, he enlisted in the Marine Corp. where he served from 1956 1958.He continued his military career by serving in the Minnesota National Guard from 1974 until his retirement in 1990.On June 11, 1959, George was united in marriage to Lois Hoheisel.Together they had five children, Gregory, Kevin, Lynelle, Roxanne and David.George was a man of many skills and trades.He worked at Hennepin Paper for 22 years and at Camp Ripley in Civil Service for over 20 years. He served on the Little Falls City Council from 1975 to 1979.He also drove ambulance for Earl LeMieur and installed carpet with Jerry Wiczek.While living in Little Falls, George was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and the Minnesota National Guard DMMC.In 1985, George and Lois moved to Lake Shamineau.While living there he was a member of and very involved in the Lake Shamineau Lake Association.George enjoyed playing cribbage and visiting with friends and neighbors (if they came to the garage).

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Gregory Gammon of Little Falls, Lynelle (Darren) Bushinger of Cushing, Roxanne (Kenneth) Lukasavitz of Little Falls and David Gammon of Little Falls; grandchildren, Bradley & John Lukasavitz, Alex & Chloe Houle, Tyler Bushinger and Brianna & Brooke Gammon; sisters, Beverly Sahr, Patricia Rauch and Gloria Gammon all of Little Falls and Colleen (Clarence) Dahmen of Aurora; brother-in-law, Jerry Pietrowski of Annandale; and brother and sister-in-law, Jim Hoheisel of Hillman, and Diane Gall of Little Falls.

George was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 55 years, Lois (February 15, 2012); beloved son, Kevin (March 5, 1982); sisters, Karen Pietrowski and Donna Brausen; brothers, Larry Gammon and Jerry Gammon; and brothers-in-law, Richard Sahr and Ervin Brausen and sisters-in-law, Theresa Gammon and Jet Hoheisel.
