Genevieve G. Justin

Genevieve G. Justin, age 83, of Royalton, MN, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, with Fr. Laurn Virnig officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Friday, April 25th at and one hour prior to the service Saturday all at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30pm Friday at the church followed by a parish prayer service at 7:00pm. Genevieve "Gen" Gertrude Justin was born on December 2, 1924 in St. Wendell Township, Stearns County, Minnesota the daughter of John R. & Philomena M. (Petron) Justin. She graduated from Royalton High School. Following her schooling, she moved to the Twin Cities where she worked for a time at Sears. She then went work for Clover Leaf/Marigold Foods where she worked for over 40 years. Her co-workers referred to her as the "mathematical genius". When she retired from Marigold Foods, she moved to Royalton, MN, and cared for mother until her death. Gen was an active person all her life. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress (WIBC), attending 49 national tournaments. She also enjoyed golfing and was on the Little Falls Women's golf league, loved sports, playing softball in her early years in Minneapolis, observing horse races, watching sporting events of her grand nieces and nephews and traveling with friends. Gen was a member of the Minneapolis Monday Night All Star Bowling League when she lived in Minneapolis, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, and was a volunteer and officer at the Royalton Area Community Senior Center. Survivors include her brothers, Albert Justin of Aitkin, MN, and Gerald (Patricia) Justin of Little Falls, MN; brother-in-law, George Sobieck of Royalton, MN; sisters-in-law, Arlene Justin of Royalton, MN and Evie Sorenson of Minniapolis, MN and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Axelson and Ione Sobieck; brothers, Donald and Hubert Justin; and step-father, John Ebensteiner. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Royalton Area Community Senior Center.
