Frederick Henry Zimmerman

Frederick Zimmerman, 73 year old resident of Royalton, MN, Bellevue Township died Monday, March 7 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 11 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN with Father Tim Wenzel officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday and from 8:30-10:00 A.M. on Friday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN. Rosary will be said at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening. Frederick was born July 14, 1937 in Bellevue Township, Morrison County to the late Max and Barbara (Tuzinski) Zimmerman. He attended District #29c country school in Bellevue Township. Fred worked for four months on the iron ore carriers on the Great Lakes. Fred was united in marriage to Clara Smieja on September 29, 1958 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN. The couple made their home in Bellevue Township, where Fred owned and operated the family dairy farm for several years. He enjoyed riding his John Deere Gator with his dog, Jet, putting together puzzles, hunting, gardening and watching the wild life in his backyard, especially the deer. He treasured the time he spent with his family. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, the Buckman Co-Op Creamery and National Farmers Organization. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Clara Zimmerman of Royalton, MN; children, Dean (Sharon) Zimmerman, Darrell (Jill) Zimmerman, Patty (Jim) Schlichting and Doug (Karen) Zimmerman, all of Royalton, MN; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren ;siblings, Marvin (Irma) Zimmerman of Pequot Lakes, MN, Marian Smieja of Royalton, MN and brother-in-law, Edward Gust of St. Louis Park, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Barbara; daughter, Paulette Zimmerman; step-mother, Grace Zimmerman; sister, Irene Gust and a brother-in-law, Ralph Smieja.
