Franzella Cecelia Schlumpberger

Franzella C. Schlumpberger was born August 18, 1917 in Swanville, MN to the late Frank and Alma (Strom) Goebel. She grew up in Swanville on a farm and attended Swanville Schools. She was united in marriage to Roman J. Schlumpberger on April 17, 1933 at St. John's Catholic Church in Swanville. Following their marriage, Franzella & Roman lived near Flensburg for one year and rented a farm. In 1935, the couple moved to Culdrum Township, Morrison County, MN where they purchased a farm. Roman died June 10, 1982. Franzella continued to live on the farm until 1997, when she moved to the Alverna Apartments in Little Falls residing there until her death. Franzella enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and family gatherings. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Flensburg Rosary Society and Miraculous Medal Association. Franzella is survived by sons & daughters, Rita Lindbeck & husband, Allan, of Monticello, MN, Jerome Schlumpberger & wife, MaryAnn, of Descano, CA, Rosezella Hellman & husband, Jim, of Sauk Rapids, MN, Allan Schlumpberger of McGregor, MN, Cheryl Virnig & husband, Paul, of Brainerd, MN, Gary Schlumpberger & wife, Patricia, of Melrose, MN, Randy Schlumpberger & wife, Debbie, of Little Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Cele Schlumpberger of Little Falls, MN; 30 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roman; parents; daughter, Franzella Rasinski; son, LeRoy Schlumpberger; brothers, Bernard & Charles Goebel and a sister, Florence Goetz. Casketbearers are Tracy Sutherland, Janelle Sanoski, Michael Rasinski, Missy Virnig, Holly Borgerding & David Schlumpberger.
