Fr. Marven Tellers,OSC.

Fr. Marven Hubert Tellers, OSC, died at the St. Cloud Hospital on September 1, 2009, at the age of 85. He was a member of the Crosier Community at the Onamia Priory. The Funeral Mass for Fr. Tellers will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5th, at 11:00 AM at the Priory Church of the Holy Cross in Onamia, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the Funeral Mass and on Friday evening, September 4th, beginning at 6:00 PM with Vigil Prayer at 7:30 PM. Fr. Marven Tellers was born in Bluffton, Minnesota, on November 12, 1923, to Peter and Marie (Goeller) Tellers. Fr. Tellers joined the Crosier Order's novitiate in 1943, making his first profession of religious vows on August 28, 1944. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 3, 1950, in Hastings, Nebraska. Fr. Marven served the Order and the Church in academia as a teacher, prefect of discipline, and school administrator in Wawasee and Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was elected Prior in Wawasee in 1962. He also served in parochial ministry at parishes in Three Rivers, White Pigeon, Bridgman, Coldwater, and Kalamazoo, Michigan. His final assignments before retirement were to the Parishes of Holy Spirit in St. Cloud and St. Odilia in Shoreview, Minnesota. Fr. Marven is survived by his brother, Art Tellers (Jeanne) of Wadena, and by his Crosier confreres. Memorials preferred to the Crosier Fathers and Brothers.
