Florian Borash

Florian Borash, age 85, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 17 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may gather from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 16 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service at the church in Flensburg, MN on Thursday. A parish prayer will be said at 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home followed by the Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead prayer at 6:30 P.M. Florian Alex Borash was born February 26, 1927 in Pike Creek Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Charles and Frances (Wardarski) Borash. Florian grew up in Pike Creek Township where he attended District #38 Country School and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1945. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from August 6, 1945 to November 8, 1946. Florian returned to Morrison County and farmed in Culdrum Township for over 20 years. He retired in 1978 and moved into Flensburg, MN. Florian was united in marriage to Glema Goucher in June of 1968. The couple later divorced in September 1989. Florian attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN, where he was an active member of the parish serving as a Eucharistic Minister, parish council member and parish maintenance. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a 4th Degree Knight. Florian enjoyed traveling out West and to the Holy Land, card playing, dancing especially "The Chicago Waltz", listening to Old Tyme music, going to church bazaars, watching the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings on T.V. Left to cherish his memory is a sister-in-law, Patricia Borash and a brother-in-law, Lennard Nelson, both of Little Falls, MN and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Francis Borash; Ex-wife, Glema Borash; brothers, Dominick, Louis, John, Peter & Duane Borash; sisters, Cecelia Pasco, Elizabeth Doucette, Agnes Nelson, Florence Houle, Lucille Karasch, and an infant sister, Stella Borash. Casket Bearers will be: Robert Doucette, Louis Doucette, Lee Doucette, Ron Karasch, Kenneth Borash and Wayne Borash. "Cherishing Memories...Celebrating Life"
