Florence O'Hotto, 97, of Little Falls, MN, formerly of Elmdale, passed away August 16, 2009 at the Central Minnesota Senior Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale, MN, with Father Michael Kellogg officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 8:30-10 A.M. on Thursday August 20th at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, 900 - 1st Street SE, Little Falls, MN. Florence O'Hotto was born, Florence Jarnot, on April 18, 1912 in Holdingford, Stearns County, Minnesota the daughter of John & Agnes (Moran) Jarnot. She grew up in the Holdingford area and attended country school through the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Julius O'Hotto on September 16, 1935 in Holdingford, MN. The couple farmed and raised their four children in the Elmdale area. During her life, she worked on the family farm, raised her children and also, for a period of time, worked at the Elmdale Creamery Locker. Julius passed away in 1969. Florence continued to live on the family farm until 1972 when she moved to Little Falls. In 1997, she moved to Westwind Central Minnesota Senior Care in Little Falls where she resided at the time of her death. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls and St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale. Florence enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, traveling, playing cards, praying the Rosary and visiting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard (Delores) O'Hotto of Elmdale, MN, Audrey (Ervin) Broda of Cushing, MN, Arliss (Eugene) Sobiech of Little Falls, MN and daughter-in-law, Joan (Sobania) O'Hotto of South Haven, MN; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, John & Agnes (Moran) Jarnot; husband, Julius O'Hotto (in 1969); son, Lawrence "Larry" O'Hotto (in 2008); six sisters and five brothers.
