Florence Brastad

Florence E. Brastad, age 75, of Little Falls, MN, died Friday, March 20, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN, with Rev. Nate Bjorge officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Little Elk Township, Todd County, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Florence Elaine Uhde was born on December 22, 1933 in Little Falls, MN, to the late Richard & Selma (Meschke) Uhde. Florence was united in marriage to Donald Brastad on August 2, 1952 at First English Lutheran Church in Little Falls. The couple made their home in Little Falls and then moved to Minneapolis. They later moved to Rock Lake near Pillager where they lived for 11 years and then moved to Little Falls where they currently reside. Florence enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, flower gardening, collecting antiques and traveling. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Donald of Little Falls; children, Donald Brastad of Fort Ripley, MN, Richard Brastad of Coon Rapids, MN, Todd (Armella) Brastad of Brainerd, MN, Kevin (April) Brastad of Pillager, MN, and Douglas Brastad of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Charles Uhde of Champlin, Carol Holt of Plymouth, MN, Chester (Betty) Uhde of Champlin, MN and James Uhde of Brooklyn Park, MN; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Richard & Selma (Meschke) Uhde; sisters, Mildred Koland and Margaret Evenson and brothers, Alvin Uhde, Kenneth Uhde and Henry Uhde.
