Fairy Mae Okerman, 85-year-old resident of Little Falls, passed away at her home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 6 at 11:00 A.M. at Little Falls Alliance Church in Little Falls. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service and from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service on Wednesday, September 6 at Little Falls Alliance Church in Little Falls. Fairy Mae Luella Blackowiak was born on March 28, 1938 in Excelsior, Minnesota to the late Chester Felix and Evelyn Frances (Hudlow) Blackowiak. She grew up in the Excelsior area and moved to Little Falls during her teenage years. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Okerman on September 17, 1955 in Brainerd, MN. The couple made their home in Little Falls and were blessed with four children, Scott, Daniel, Ricki and Becki. She worked the following jobs throughout her life: St. Gabriel’s Hospital, St. Francis Convent, St. Otto’s Care Center and Munsignwear. Fairy Mae enjoyed watching cooking shows, cooking for her family, crafting, sewing, word searches, playing football boards, fishing, camp fires, dancing especially the polka, playing her concertina, spending time with her family and listening to her scanner! She was a member of the Little Falls Alliance Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Daniel (Dee) Okerman, Ricki (Julie) Okerman, Becki Okerman; special friends, Steve (Michelle) Backowski and their children, Brent and Jessica; grandchildren, Eric, Nathan, Christopher, Devin, Brandon and Travis Okerman, Darla Schneider, Darci Okerman, and Danel Arndt; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Stan Blackowiak, James (Gerri) Blackowiak, Billy Blackowiak, Evangeline Mohler and Sharon Dalen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Okerman; son, Scott Okerman, siblings, Charles, Chester and George Blackowiak; brothers-in-laws, Bob Dalen and Eugene Mohler; sisters-in-laws, Sandy Blackowiak, Kathleen Blackowiak and Diana Blackowiak and special friend, Kenny Larson.
