Evelyn G. Lovine

Evelyn G. Lovine, age 103, a resident of Upsala, MN, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Community Covenant Church in Upsala, MN, with Rev. Craig Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Community Covenant Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Evelyn was born on November 25, 1908 in Upsala, MN the daughter of Oscar & Esther (Pehrson) Martinson. She grew up near Elmdale and Upsala. She attended and graduated from Upsala High School, Class of 1928. She was united in marriage to Walter Lovine in June 5, 1946 in the Gethsemane Lutheran Church parsonage. The couple made their home in Upsala where they built a home. Evelyn was employed at the phone company in Upsala where she worked as a phone operator. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and reading. She was a member of Community Covenant Church in Upsala and the Upsala V.F.W. Auxiliary. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Jean Martinson of Hinkley, MN and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar & Esther; husband, Walter; siblings, Edna Martinson, Jerry Martinson, Laurie Martinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to the Upsala Area Community Center or Community Covenant Church.
