Evangeline Susan Block

Evangeline Block, age 75 of Lastrup, MN passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Johns Catholic Church in Lastrup with the Rev Gerald Dalseth officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8P.M. Tuesday and Wednesday from 9-10:30 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz. Christian Mothers will pray a rosary at 5:30 P..M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 7:00 P.M. Evangeline S. Block was born May 2, 1933 in Morrison County, MN to the late Ted & Molly (Boehmer) Wagner. She grew up on a farm south of Lastrup. She attended School Dist #36 in Lastrup and graduated from St. Francis High School in Little Falls with the Class of 1951. Evangeline was united in marriage to Clarence Block on October 2, 1951 at St. John's Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup. Following their marriage, Evangeline & Clarence farmed east of Lastrup where they raised eight girls. Evangeline enjoyed playing piano, listening to music, especially Old Tyme Music, Gospel Music and Christmas Music. She enjoyed being a homemaker, loved playing cards and even the rare occasion of winning a card game over her husband, Clarence. Nothing was more important to her than her family. Left to cherish Evangeline's memory are her husband, Clarence; daughters, Brenda Koone & husband, Gene, of Dublin, OH, Bonnie Gulden & husband, Rick, of Pierz, MN, Deb Dvorak & husband, Steve, of Brooklyn Park, MN, Sherry Andres & husband, Bill, of Buckman, MN, Lori Przybilla & husband, Bill, of Buckman, MN, Michelle Murphy & husband, Dave, of Highland Ranch, CO, Tammy Winter & husband, Dan, of Watkins, MN and Kelly Kock & husband, Gary, of Shakopee, MN; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters & brothers, Elaine Gerwing & husband, Reine, of Pierz, MN, Sister Annella Wagner, O.S.B. of Duluth, MN, Jerry Wagner & wife, Rosie, of Pierz, MN Jim Wagner & wife, Roseann, of Pierz, MN, and many relatives and friends. Evangeline was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Sara. Casket Bearers are Jeremy Gulden, Jason Dvorak, Mike Andres, Cody Przybilla, Matt Murphy & Adam Gulden.
