Ethel McDougall

Ethel McDougall, 75 year old resident of Royalton, MN died Saturday, June 20 at her home in Royalton, MN. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 25 at 11:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday and from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Royalton, MN. Ethel was born December 14, 1933 in Sandstone, Minnesota to the late John and Alice (Dupuis) Voit. She was united in marriage to Nelson "Smokey" McDougall. The couple lived in Royalton, MN. Ethel worked for Munsingwear, Rapids Alterations and Randilyn Bridal Accessories. Ethel lived to spend time with her family. She was well known for her homemade Christmas Cookies, she was a wonderful cook. She was very thrifty and crafty; she could make a pickup into the state of South Dakota, a Hilex jug into a pig, and a covered wagon out of a box of stuff. School Homework was always done and done very well-not always entirely by us kids. Ethel completed her GED in 2002 at the age of 69. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, garage sales, watching the Minnesota Twins, plants and flowers, picking agates and berries. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Danny and wife, Renaye, McDougall of Royalton, MN, Michael McDougall of Little Falls, MN, Sharon Popp and husband, Charles, of Rice, MN, Sandra Tretter and husband, Eugene, of Latta, SC, Sheila Binkley and husband, James, of Royalton, MN, Sheryl Ballmann and husband, Lenny, of Sartell, MN and Shari Grimsley and husband, Steve, of Rice, MN; brother, Alvin Voit and wife, Marion, of Finlayson, MN, sisters, Betty Dancer of Cloquet, MN, Joan Tessier of White Bear Lake, MN; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice (Dupuis) Voit; Husband, Nelson McDougall; sister, Doris Dancer; brother, Carl Voit; daughter, Shelly McDougall and grandson, Andrew McDougall.
