Esther L. Zimmer

Esther L. Zimmer, age 84 of Little Falls, MN passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008, at her home in Little Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (West Chapel) in Little Falls with the Rev. Steven Priola officiating. Interment will be in Darling Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (West Chapel) in Little Falls. Esther Lorraine Zimmer was born July 21, 1923 in Jamestown, ND to the late Edward and Ida (Vargison) Sehumel. She grew up in Jamestown, ND where she attended school through the eighth grade. Following her schooling, Esther worked as a waitress for about seven years. She moved back to the family farm near Eldridge, ND and worked with her parents. She met and later married Kenneth Zimmer on June 18, 1960 at the Jamestown Baptist Church in Jamestown, ND. Esther and Kenneth continued living in North Dakota until 1967 when they moved to Clarissa, MN. In 1969, the couple moved to Little Falls where she resided until her death. Esther enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking and canning. She was a former member of the Little Falls Baptist Church. Esther is survived by her husband, Kenneth; sons, Gary Zimmer & wife, Cindy, of Gatesville, TX and James Zimmer of Sauk Rapids, MN; grandsons, J.B. Zimmer & Zachery Zimmer, both of Sauk Rapids, MN; two nieces and ten nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Ida Sehumel and two sisters. Casketbearers are David Benson, Jim Benson, Marlin Parker, William "Bill" Mooney, Dale Peterso and Bruce Bellefeuille.
