Emmy Lorimer

Emmy Lorimer, 99 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Saturday, May 24 at Diamond Willows Assisted Living Center in Little Falls, MN. Al Mass will be held Wednesday, May 28 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Father Nicholas Landsberger officiating. The burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday at the church.


Emmy (Nordquist) Lorimer was born October 7, 1914 in Gary, IN to Swedish immigrants the late Per Arthur Nordquist and Hulda Octavia Andersson.She attended Horace Mann High School in Gary, Indiana and Business College in Chicago, IL. She was a registrar at Methodist Hospital in Gary, IN.In 1941, she was united in marriage to William Lorimer III in Chicago, IL.He was a career United States Army Officer.The couple lived in several locations around the world during his career.Upon his retirement they moved to Hobart, IN.In 2000, she moved to Little Falls, MN where she resided at her death.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Lorimer of Randall, MN, Tom Lorimer of Hobart, IN; daughter, Heidel (Steve) Van Slooten of Little Falls, MN. 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel William Lorimer III; son, Captain William Lorimer IV, granddaughter, Robin Lorimer and great-grandson, Mitchell Lorimer.
