Elmer Geise, age 72, of Sobieski, MN, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski with Fr. Jimmy Joseph officiating.Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and from 9:00-10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church.
Elmer was born June 1, 1942 in Freeport, MN, to Bernard Ben and Catherine (Roering) Geise.He grew up on a farm in the Freeport area and attended country school.He was united in marriage to Mary Welle on June 13, 1970 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN. The couple made their home on the farm in Swan River Township, Morrison County, MN where they raised their family.Elmer also worked for 14 years at Fingerhut in St. Cloud.He enjoyed going to the sale at the sales barn, trips to the casino, playing bingo, dining out, and playing with the grandchildren.He was a member of St. Stanislaus in Sobieski.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary of Sobieski; children, David (Sarah Leonard) Geise of Little Falls, Joyce Geise of Little Falls, Betty Geise of Swanville, Mike (Michelle Hall) Geise of Royalton, Janice (Scott Allen) Mohler of Burtrum, Patricia (Russ Bollin) Geise of Cushing, Steven Geise of Pierz, Joanne (Chris Noska) Geise of Staples and Richard Geise of Pierz; siblings, Bernard (Lucille) Geise of North Prairie, Gerald (Mary Ann) Geise of Richmond, Marilyn (Don) Zutz of Royalton, and Sylvester (Mary) Geise of Freeport; 16 grandchildren and brother-in-law, Tony Gerads of St. Cloud.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Ben & Catherine Geise; daughter, Brenda Geise (November, 2011); sister, Maryann Gerads.
