Elizabeth "Betty" Lashinski

Elizabeth Betty Lashinski, 83 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Friday, August 14 at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 17 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN with Fr. Jimmy Joseph officiating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 16 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:00-10:00 A.M. on Monday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN.

Elizabeth Ann Goike was born November 17, 1931, in Dearborn, MI, to the late Joseph and Anna (Koczur) Goike. At the age of 14, she moved with her parents to Minnesota. She graduated from Upsala High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to George V. Lashinski on September 18, 1951 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Elmdale, MN. The couple made their home for 38 years in Swan River Township (near Sobieski, MN) until moving into Little Falls in 1989. Betty Worked for Fingerhut in St. Cloud, MN for a few years. She then went to work for Munsingwear in Little Falls, MN for 17 years and St. Camillus in Little Falls for 10 years.Betty served as a secretary for the DFL party and was a union representative for Munsingwear. She was a very active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN, serving on the very first Parish Council and later as a Parish Trustee. Elizabeth enjoyed crocheting, gardening, embroidering, sewing, flowers and baking bread.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, George Lashinski of LittleFalls, MN; children, Kathy (Jim) Birchem of Little Falls, MN, Mary Waltman of Little Falls, MN, George (Karen) Lashinski of Bowlus, MN, Patty (Dean) Savor of Brainerd, MN, Jean (Gary) Pallansch of Rice, MN, Jane Pantzke of Brainerd, MN, Thomas (Donna) Lashinski of Rice, MN, and Jerome (Kim) Lashinski of Sobieski, MN; brother, Tom (Judy) Goike of Howell, MI; sisters-in-law, Ileen Goike of Dearborn, MI, Rita Stiller of Swanville, MN, and Francis Lashinski of Little Falls, MN; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters, 5 brothers and a son-in-law, Ed Waltman.
