Elizabeth Betty Gross

Elizabeth "Betty" Gross, 87 year old resident of Lastrup, MN, died Saturday, April 27, at the Pierz Villa Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 30, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup, MN with Father David Maciej and Father Nicholas Landsberger co-celebrating. Friends may gather from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 29, at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN and from 9:00-10:30 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. The Christian Mothers will pray the Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 5:30 P.M. on Monday. Elizabeth "Betty" Rakotz was born February 19, 1926 in Albany, Minnesota to the late Anton and Margaret (Froelich) Rakotz. She was united in marriage to Donald Gross on April 11, 1953 at St. Augustine Church in St. Cloud, MN. The couple made their home in Lastrup, MN. Betty was a great cook. She will be remembered for her pickles, hot dish, chicken and dressing. She enjoyed playing cards, watching soap operas especially "Days of Our Lives" and "The Young and the Restless". She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Lastrup, MN and was active with the Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid Society. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bob Gross of Lastrup, MN, Mark (Roberta) Gross of Lastrup, MN, Stephen Gross of Lastrup, MN, David (Jenny) Gross of Cottage Grove, MN, Michael (Sherry) Gross of Newport, MN, Sue (Donald) Seelen of Pierz, MN, Carol (Jim) Krousey of Little Falls, MN, Linda (Duane) Claussen of Wanatah, IN; grandchildren, Sheila, Stacy, Jenny, Joe, Brian, Jason, Rebecca, Kyle, Matt, Melissa, Josh, Brandon, Ryan and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Shawn, Macey, Mariah, Austin, Zach, Dustin, Deanna, Aiah, Isaac, Ella, Marshall, Mabel, Addisyn, Alex; sister, Alma Bauer of Albany, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Gross, on March 11, 2006; granddaughter, Cara Gross, on October 1, 1992 and 11 siblings.
