Elizabeth Ann Trib

Elizabeth "Betty" Trib, age 89, of Royalton, MN, passed away at the home of her daughter. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 10 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, with Fr. Laurn Virnig officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Trinity Parish Cemetery in Royalton. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Betty Borman was born on December 22, 1922 in Minneapolis, MN, to the late Miles & Petra (Larson) Borman. As a child she moved with her family to Royalton where she attended school graduating with the Royalton High School Class of 1941. She was united in marriage to Joseph Trib on August 5, 1941 at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Following their marriage, Joe and Betty lived in Little Falls where she worked at the Sears Order Office and Von's Supply. In 1951 they moved to Los Angeles, CA. While in California, Betty worked as an accountant for 16 years for the CPA firm of Bradford & Thomas. One of her most famous accounts was the first McDonalds that was built in the United States. She then went to work for Winemans's Department Store in the office of the controller. She eventually became the assistant controller of four stores. In 1983, both Joseph and Betty retired and returned to Little Falls and in 1987, built a home in Royalton. In their retirement, they enjoyed spending winters in Mesa, AZ and Laughlin, NV. Betty was active in the Senior Centers in both Little Falls and Royalton, belonged to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton and the Christian Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary in Royalton. Betty was also a member of the American Business Women's Association and St. Rose of Lima Women's Club in Los Angeles. In 2007, she sold her home in Royalton and moved to Little Falls and in 2009 moved to Heartwood in Crosby, MN, where she made a number of friends. Grateful for having shared her life is her daughter, Susan (Dan) Benson of Brainerd, MN; sister, Patricia Lawson of Ironton, MN; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Borman of Backus, MN; brother-in-law, Eugene (Avis) Trib of Hemet, CA, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Trib (August 8, 2005); parents, Miles & Petra Borman and brother, Alan Borman. Casket Bearers will be: Thomas Girtz, Patrick Borman, Joe Borman, Barry Borman, Andy Thielen, Alex Treb.
