Elaine Kummet, age 89, of Lastrup, MN, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Harmony House of Pierz in Pierz, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, May 21, 2012 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup, MN, with Fr. David Maciej, Fr. Troy Przybilla & Fr. Al Stangl con-celebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz with a Christian Mothers Rosary at 5:00 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 6:00 P.M. and Knights of Columbus at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday at the funeral home from 8:30 - 10:00 A.M. Elaine Crescence Stangl was born on June 7, 1922 in Pierz Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Frank & Frances (Kruschek) Stangl. She was united in marriage to Louis Kummet on August 25, 1942 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz. The couple farmed southeast of Lastrup until 1980. They then built a home near their farm where they lived. Elaine was strong in her faith and treasured her family, enjoyed gardening, quilting and playing cards. She was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Tony (Marlys) Kummet of Pierz, MN, Bob (Julie) Kummet of Pierz, MN, Tom (Julie) Kummet of Pierz, MN, Louise (Dennis) Marshik of St. Anthony, MN, Lois Przybilla of Andover, MN, Elaine (Mike) Deeg of Apple Valley, MN, Marian (Mike) Bennett of Mitchell, SD, Fran (Roger) Waytashek of Crosby, MN, Judy (Jerry) Pohlkamp of Sartell, MN, Rose (Tom) Wright of Schertz, TX and JoAnn McDonald of Stacy, MN; daughter-in-law, Jan Kummet of Pierz, MN; siblings, Richard (Arlene) Stangl of Buckman, MN, Herman (Frances) Stangl of Pierz, MN, Clarence (Judie) Stangl of Maple Plaine, MN, Fr. Al Stangl of St. Cloud, MN, Alvin (Carol) Stangl of Pierz, MN and Marie Pohlkamp of Pierz, MN; 35 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Kummet on April 14, 1997; parents, Frank & Frances (Kruschek) Stangl; son, James "Jim" Kummet; sons-in-law, Ken Przybilla & Dave McDonald; sisters, Margaret Athman and Evelyn Dehler; grandchildren, Eric and Kimberly Wright & Paul Kummet; great grandchildren, Lewis, Mercy, Mary, Lee, Luke & Corey Kummet & Alice Bennett. Casketbearers are Tim Kummet, Chad Bennett, Brian Kummet, Jeremy Marshik, Zach Kummet & Todd Przybilla. Family request memorials preferred Holy Trinty Catholic School or St. John's Nepomuk Catholic Church.
