Edward "Edwin" F. Veith Edward "Edwin" F. Veith age 75, of Buckman Twsp/Royalton, MN, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, April 20, 2007 at his home in Buckman Township, Morrison County, MN after a short battle with cancer. A private family interment will be held Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Edwin Veith was born November 27, 1931 in Buckman Twsp, Morrison County, MN to the late Bernard & Anna (Heinz) Veith. He attended school until the eighth grade at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Pierz. He then stayed home to help his mother run the family farm. In 1953, he moved to Duluth, MN and sailed the Great Lakes on the B.F. Affleck U.S.S. Steel. In October of 1953, Edwin was drafted into the United States Army. He served in the Army for two years and the Army Reserves for four years. He received an honorable discharge on September 30, 1961. Edwin was united in marriage to Audrey Anne Cameron on October 22, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. The two moved to Buckman, Minnesota, where they resided until Ed enrolled in school at Dunwoody Insitute which brought them to Minneapolis from 1956 a" 1959 and then back to Buckman. Edwin had a truck driving career and drove truck for several companies. In 1969, he became correctional officer at the St. Cloud Reformatory retiring in 1987. After his retirement, Edwin drove a road grader (for fun) for Burski Excavating until 2002. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, traveling the country and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Pierz American Legion Post. Edwin is survived by daughters, Laura Reyes & husband Gene, of Blaine, MN, Natalie Gritzmacher & husband, Jim, of Pierz, MN, Deborah Funk & significant other, Rick Heisick of Rice, MN, Lisa Leisenheimer & husband, Andrew, of Byron, MN; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Reger of Sauk Rapids, MN and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey in October of 2006, brother, Fredrick Veith and a sister, Hildegard Norberg. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN
