Edward Eddie Bzdok, age 75, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating.Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Little Falls.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26th and 1:00 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th all at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls.
There will be a Parish Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 7:45 p.m.
Edward Eddie John Bzdok was born on August 17, 1939, in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to John & Angeline (Borash) Bzdok.He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1957.Eddie was united in marriage to Kathleen Kathy Eix on June 3, 1968.He worked at Dr. Pepper from 1957 to 1965 when he purchased the family farm in Swan River Township which became a century farm.He and his wife, Kathy owned Herbies Bar from 1977 to 1982 at which time he became self-employed as a cattle buyer and seller and rented out bulls.Eddie enjoyed riding snowmobile, bowling in the Knights of Columbus Bowling League, was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.Other than his twelve grandchildren, there is nothing that lit up Eddies face like his passion for the Sobieski Skis Baseball Team.He began playing for the Skis in 1964 as a catcher, then an infielder and outfielder until 1970.He managed the Skis from 1978 to 1986 and guided the team to state tournaments on several occasions during that time.After 50 years of involvement with the Skis, on June 9, 2013, he became an inaugural member of the Sobieski Skis Hall of Fame.Following his career with the Skis, he remained one of the teams most dedicated fans, rarely missing a game.If he had to miss a game, which he did miss this years State Championship run, he was sure to tune in on the radio.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Kathy; children, Brenda (Rick) Baker, Beckie (John) Tschida, Bobby (Julie) Bzdok, Beth (Mike) Waltman, Bonnie Bzdok, Brian (Becky) Bzdok, and Brittney Bzdok; grandchildren, Brock & Beau Baker; Bridget, Brooke & Blair Tschida; Jordyn, Jaymie & Johnathon Bzdok; Layla & Luke Waltman; and Annabelle & Aleah Bzdok; siblings, Martha Woitalla and Joe (Joyce) Bzdok; mother-in-law, Audrey Eix; sister-in-law, LaVerne Bzdok, and brothers-in-law, Ken Welle and Don Klinkhammer and other relatives and friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, John & Angeline Bzdok; granddaughter Amber Bzdok; siblings, Rosie Klinkhammer, George Bzdok, and Terry Welle; father-in-law, Robert A. Eix; brothers-in-law, Roman Woitalla, Robert Butch F. Eix, and Peter Denzen; nephews Bobby Klinkhammer, Mark Woitalla, and Tyler Boody, and other relatives and friends.
