Edna Ann Sufka, 96 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the Harmony House in Little Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Father Joseph Herzing officiating.
Friends may gather from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the funeral home. The burial will be held at the Calvary cemetery.
There will be a Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by the Parish Prayers at 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Edna Ann Kieffer was born on March 6, 1918 to Joseph and Julia (Schwintek) Kieffer in Brockway Township, Minnesota.She grew up in North Prairie, MN and attended school in Opole, MN. After completing school, she was united in marriage to John Klosowski on June 21, 1938 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in North Prairie, MN. The couple made their home in Bowlus, MN for several years and then moved to Little Falls, MN. After Johns death in 1965, Edna worked at Munsingwear for many years.In 1969, Edna married Al Sufka. Edna enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, crocheting, traveling with friends and family, going to the casino, playing bingo, volunteering, working in her flower garden and cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Saint Marys Catholic Church.
Edna will be remembered for her hospitality and joyful spirit. She enjoyed visiting with people and gathering with family and friends. Her grandchildren will remember her for her giving the best hugs. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and special.She took time to really listen to others. She always made herself available to celebrate the joy of others or share the sorrows that are part of this life. She had a way of making the every day moments memorable. She is a treasure that will be truly missed.
Edna is survived by her stepdaughters, Rosemarie (Marshall) Larson of Fridley, MN, Dorothy Bergh of Little Falls, MN; stepsons, Donald Sufka, Walter Sufka; children, Arnold Klosowski (his friend, Jan Luberts), Dennis (Maureen) Klosowski, Bob Klosowski, Larry (Robin) Klosowski, Mike (Deb) Klosowski all of Little Falls, MN, Richard Klosowski of Royalton, MN; daughter-in-law, Myrtle Klosowski and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Joseph Kieffer; siblings, Otto Kieffer, Louise Sobieck, Florence Majeski and Louis Kieffer; her husband, John Klosowski and her second husband, Al Sufka; step-children, George Klosowski, Jerry Klosowski, Melvin (Jackie) Klosowski and Diane (Emery) Bourgeois; her children, Jimmy Klosowski, Judy (Daniel) Fussy, Debbie Klosowski and her daughter-in-law, Diane (Stay) Klosowski.
