Edmund Janish

Edmund "Ed" Janish, age 88, of Little Falls, passed away Friday, December 07, 2012, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, with Fr. Laurn Virnig officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday. December 10th at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN, with a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 11th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Ed was born on November 8, 1924 in North Prairie, MN, to the late Henry & Anna (Popp) Janish. He married Rose Hesch on June 19, 1948 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. The couple resided in Brooklyn Park, MN, for 30 years and raised five children. In 1987, Ed & Rose retired to their new home on the Mississippi River north of Royalton. There they enjoyed many happy years with family, relatives and friends. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Royalton Sportsmen's Club. Ed was an avid woodworker and carpenter. He enjoyed making things for his children and grandchildren, especially as gifts for Christmas. He loved to play cribbage and could beat pretty much anyone! Ed enjoyed fishing, boating on the river, trips to the casino with Rosie, visiting and spending time with his family and friends. One of his favorite summer pass-times was cheering for (and being frustrated with) the Minnesota Twins. He will truly be missed by everyone who came to know and love him. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jerry (Rita) Janish of Waseca, MN, Judy Janish of Victoria, MN Tim (Mary) Janish of Brooklyn Park, MN, Dan (Beth) Janish of Coon Rapids, MN, Patty (Gary) Bona of Blaine, MN; brother, Jerome (Alice) Janish of St. Paul, MN; brother-in-law, Tony (Marlene) Hesch of Waite Park, MN; sister-in-law, Eileen Paulson of Sauk Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Coreen, Melissa, Nathan, Jacob and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Annabelle, Micah, Jonah. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Rose Janish; siblings, Norbert Janish, Ludvina Broda, Leona Michalski, Idella Hesch; Delmore Janish, Claude Janish and Irene Hesch.
