Duane Dobis

Duane P. Dobis, 41 year old resident of Rice, MN formerly of Little Falls, MN, died Tuesday, April 5 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 11 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 10 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Parish Prayers will be said at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. Duane Patrick Dobis was born April 20, 1969 in Little Falls, MN to Patrick and Sharon (Banta) Dobis. Duane grew up in Little Falls, MN. He attended and graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1987. After high school, he attended Brainerd Vocational School where he graduated from the Tool and Die program. He was united in marriage to Tamala "Tami" Thieschafer on June 5, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Duane worked at Northern Wire in St. Cloud, MN from 1996 until 2011. He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, watching Nascar, bowling, playing cards, especially cribbage and spending time with his daughter, Hailey. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tami Dobis of Rice, MN; daughters, Hailey Rose Dobis of Rice, MN, Stephanie Smolik of Florida; son, Adam Ginter of Little Falls, MN; granddaughter, Kiara LaRose Ginter of Little Falls, MN; mother, Sharon Dobis of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Darrell Dobis of Little Falls, MN, Dean Dobis and wife, Carrie, of Lastrup, MN, Diane Stangl and husband, Joe, of Pierz, MN; brothers-in-law, Duane Thieschafer of Long Prairie, MN, Kyle Thieschafer of Swanville, MN; sister-in-law, Barb Maland and husband, Eugene, of Eagle Bend, MN; 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Dobis; an infant child; grandparents, Jerome Dobis, Adele Geske and Leroy Banta; father-in-law, Alvin Thieschafer; grandparents-in-law, Lloyd Lembcke, Hazel Lembcke, Herman Thieschafer, Marie Thieschafer.
