Dorothy Winzenburg, age 81, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 8th and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9th all at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30 PM, KC Prayers 6:00 PM followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Dorothy Irene Wielinski was born on November 11, 1931 in Little Falls, Minnesota the daughter of John & Hattie (Yasgar) Wielinski. She attended elementary school at the Brickyard School, District #24 and graduated from Little Falls High School, Class of 1949. She then continued her education at Teachers Training in Little Falls. After her schooling, she worked as a telephone operator. She was united in marriage to Bernard Winzenburg on April 24, 1954 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. The couple lived for two years in Naples, Italy while Bernard was in the military. Dorothy then returned to Little Falls to care for her parents and Bernard followed after his service to the military was completed in 1958. After raising her six children, Dorothy returned to teaching in the country school and taught in the last Morrison County Country School. She then worked as a substitute teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Middle School. Dorothy was co-owner and book keeper for Bernie's Electric Motor Service in Buckman, MN. Dorothy and Bernard resided in Little Falls, MN. The couple was members at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was active with the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bernard "Bernie" Winzenburg of Little Falls, MN; children, Cheryl Winzenburg and Erin Keeley of Duluth, MN, Karen (James) Grundei of Carlos, MN, Rebecca (Lawrence) Thompson of Rice, MN, William (Cheryl Ann) Winzenburg of Albuquerque, NM, Joseph Winzenburg of Little Falls, MN, Andrew (Kelli) Winzenburg of Sauk Rapids, MN; sister, Rose Schreiber of Little Falls, MN; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie (Yasgar) Wielinski; brother, Jerome Wielinski; Casket Bearers will be: Jim Grundei, Larry Thompson, Heather Thompson, Allison Kummet, Alan Kummet, Jared Grundei. Honorary Casket Bearers: Kaitlyn Winzenburg, Kathryn Winzenburg, Abigail Winzenburg, Cpt. Michael Thompson, Trevor Grundei, Stephanie Pratt and Bill Winzenburg, Jr.
