Dorothy Havel

Dorothy "Dora" Havel, age 96 of Little Falls, MN formerly of Montgomery, MN passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Otto's Care Center, Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. Emblom Brenny Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements. Dorothy "Dora" K. Havel was born November 25, 1913, in Montgomery, MN to the late Anton & Catherine (Wondra) Kuzel. She grew up in Montgomery where she attended country school. She was united in marriage to George Holey. They later divorced. As a young girl, Dorothy worked on the family farm. She later worked as an Industrial Nurse in Minneapolis and Montgomery, MN with Green Giant. She also worked in family clinic nursing in Montgomery, MN and Prior Lake, MN. Dorothy's nursing career extended over 50 years. On March 18, 1972, she was united in marriage to George T. Havel. Following their marriage, Dorothy and George moved to Le Center, MN. George died in 1990, at which time Dorothy moved back to Montgomery, MN. In 2003, she moved to St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls where she resided until her death. Dorothy enjoyed animals, gardening, and especially the outdoors hunting and fishing. She was a member of the Western Bohemian Fraternal Association and the Degree of Honor Protective Association. Left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her son, Bruce (Marie) Holey of Little Falls, MN; step-daughters, Ginny (Jon) Naujokas of Olivia, MN and Barbara (David) Gastelum of San Diego, CA; sister, Clara Pexa of St. Peter, MN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Leif) Hanson of Little Falls, MN & Joel (Melissa) Holey of Little Falls, MN; four great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren; nieces, Harriet Soukup and Delores Reak, both of Montgomery, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Havel; parents, Anton & Catherine Kuzel; and a sister, Rose Honza.
