Donna C. Bates

Donna C. Bates, age 81, of Little Falls, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at her home.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Donna was born on December 30, 1932, in Hayfield, MN, the daughter of Gerhard & Claudine Leckness.She graduated from Hayfield High School.In 1974, together with her husband, Robert, they came to Little Falls and owned and operated Tom Thumb Superette.In 1985, they moved to Peoria, Arizona.Due to Roberts declining health, they returned to Little Falls in 2000, where for several years, Donna worked as a desk clerk at Super 8.

She was preceded in death by husband, Robert; her parents; two sisters; a twin brother and brother-in-law, William Bates of Erhart, MN.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bates of Little Falls; best friend, Tom Schumacher and several nieces and nephews scattered throughout the United States.

She will be buried with Robert at Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls.
