Donald Francis Marotte, 78 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Thursday, September 27 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, October 3 at 11:30 A. M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Nick Landsberger officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the church in Little Falls, MN. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Donald Francis Marotte was born October 4, 1933 in Little Falls, MN to the late George and Laura (Schmelzer) Marotte. Donald grew up in Little Falls, MN where he attended school. He graduated from the Little Falls Community Schools in 1953. Donald enlisted in the United States Army on May 2, 1957 and was honorably discharged on April 22, 1959. During his time in the military, he received the Expert Marksman Sharpshooter, Expert Infantry Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. After he was discharged from the military, he worked for Honeywell in Minneapolis, MN for over 20 years in the specialty parts department. He retired to Little Falls, MN, where he was active with the Little Falls American Legion Post #46. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, traveling and playing cards especially with family and friends. Donald cherished his time spent with his coffee crew at the Royal Cafe at 7:00 A.M. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Lorraine Siegle of Long Prairie, MN, Arnold Marotte of Nevis, MN and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Laura (Schmelzer) Marotte; siblings, Mel Marotte, Larry Marotte, Doris Schmiesing and Eileen Marotte. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Donald's nephews.
