Donald Gammon, 79 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Friday at his home in Little Falls, MN surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 2 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, May 1 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. and from 9-10 A.M. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening. Military Rites will be conducted by the Little Falls V.F.W. Post #1112 and Little Falls American Legion Post #46. Donald Lyle Gammon was born April 20, 1930 in Little Falls, MN to the late Lyle and Genevieve (LeMay) Gammon. Don grew up in Little Falls, MN and graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1948. He worked for Viner and Harrison Radio as an electronic repairman and antenna installer. Don enlisted in the United States Army on February 13, 1952 and was honorably discharged on January 12, 1954. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Kramer on July 6, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple resided in Little Falls, MN, where Don worked at Camp Ripley as an electronics technician. During his career at Camp Ripley, Don enjoyed giving his girls rides in the jeeps and tanks. They were very memorable rides for the girls. Don's girls also remember attending the parades at Camp Ripley with dad. His girls will always remember Dad's gentle and compassionate ways in which he raised them with love. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Confession and Communion were a big part of his life. He also belonged to the Little Falls V.F.W. Post #1112, Little Falls American Legion Post #46 and the Moose Lodge. Donald enjoyed fishing, camping, deer hunting, puzzles, gardening, woodworking and restoring kitchen cabinets for his family. He attended his grandchildren's activities supporting and encouraging them. Donald is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jackie Gammon, of Little Falls, MN; daughters, Cindy Messer and husband, Doug, of Ramsey, MN, Debbie Witucki and husband, Joe, of Little Falls, MN, Kathy Johnson and husband, Steve, of Little Falls, MN, Becky Vernier of Little Falls, MN; brother, Kenny Gammon and wife, Dorothy, of Georgetown, KY; grandchildren, Jessica Walkner, Lacy Messer, Nichole Vernier, Allison Vernier, Janaya Johnson, Chelsey Messer, Rachel Johnson, Shelby Messer, Wade Witucki, Alyssa Johnson, Kalie Jo Witucki; great-grandchildren, Abrielle Burns and Kaidlynn Walkner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Genevieve (LeMay) Gammon; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roy and Betty Martin; grandson, Chance Donald Messer and many aunts and uncles.
