Donald Don Anthony Marshik, 75 year old resident of Pierz, MN died Friday, December 26 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 30 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Buckman, MN with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. The burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN on Friday, January 2 at 11:00A.M..A visitation will be held on Monday, December 29 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 30 at the church in Buckman, MN. The Parish Prayers will be said on Monday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the church. The Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillman American Legion Post #602.

Donald was born June 1, 1939 in Pierz, Minnesota to the late Anthony and Cecelia (Tax) Marshik.He attended school in Pierz, MN, graduating with the class of 1957.He entered the United States Air Force on June 19, 1957 in Minneapolis, MN and was honorably discharged on June 16, 1961 in Fairfield, California. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Millner on May 30, 1960 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. He drove truck cross country for several years. He then began dairy farming in the Pierz/Buckman area.After retiring, he continued to help his son with the field work on the farm.Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and was a safety instructor for both the snowmobile and four-wheeler clubs. The couple enjoyed wintering in Sun Valley Acres in Harlingen, Texas for 13 years.He was a past-president of the snowmobile club and the four-wheeler club.He served for 28 years on the Buckman Sunrise Co-op Board and on the Creameries Blending Board.Don was an active member of the Hillman American Legion Post #602.He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Buckman, MN.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bonnie Marshik of Pierz, MN; children, Dean (Clare) Marshik of Pierz, MN, Tammy (Craig) Casey of Pierz, MN and Debbie Marshik and friend, Tom Weaver of Little Falls, MN; siblings, Dennis (Louise) Marshik of St. Anthony, MN, Alan (Joyce) Marshik of Hillman, MN, Roger (LaRae) Marshik of Hillman, MN; sister-in-law, Lynn Marshik of Port Jefferson, NY;grandchildren, Tony Marshik, Shelby Rivetts, Daniel Maurer, Rachael Maurer, Jessica Meyer, Travis Weaver, Ashley Weaver, Austin Weaver, Tylor Weaver and Tanner Weaver and great-grandchildren, Braiden Maus,Tosh Maus, Allie Meyer, Kaden Weaver and Lexie Lipke.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Cecelia Marshik; daughter, Robin Marshik; brother, Ken Marshik and a sister, Helen Marshik.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be the Hillman American Legion Post #602

Casket Bearers will be: Tony Marshik, Shelby Rivetts, Daniel Maurer, Rachael Maurer, Jessica Maurer and Loretta Nitzche.
