Delphine Sobiech, age 84, of Royalton, MN, passed Saturday, November 10, 2012, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, with Fr. Laurn Virnig officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15th at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton. There will be Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Delphine E. (Schlichting) Sobiech was born on May 8, 1928 in Bellevue Township, Morrison County, Minnesota, to the late Justin & Martha (Wunderlich) Schlichting. She attended grade school in District 29B, St. Cloud Business college and took various courses through the University of Minnesota. Delphine was united in marriage to Louis J. Sobiech on February 16, 1963 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. She was employed as a secretary at the St. Cloud VA, worked for Paramount Film Dist. Co. and Pillsbury Company, ran the family dairy farm, was a fire warden for the DNR and served as the Clerk for Bellevue Township from 2002-2011. Delphine's involvement in the community included teaching CCD at Holy Trinity, the Morrison County Meth Task Force, and the planning and zoning board for 19 years. She was also a member of Holy Trinity Christian Mothers and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. Delphine was an avid gardener and was very proud to live on a Century Farm. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert (Laura) Sobiech of Lakeland, MN and David Sobiech of Brunettsville, IN; brother, Donald (Jannette) Schlichting of Sauk Centre, MN and sister, Evelynne (Robert) Long of Scottsdale, AZ; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Delphine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis (Oct, 5, 1995); brothers, Clarence and Alvin Schlichting and sisters, Virginia Chirhart, Elaine Smith, and Joanne Rudnicki.
