Delmar "Del" Bauers, age 80 of Little Falls, MN, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 208 Broadway West Broadway, Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Mark Innocenti officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. Interment with military honors will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. The family invites all friends and relatives for a celebration of Del's life at the Canteen Bar & Grill outside the main gate of Camp Ripley. Del was born on August 7, 1931 in Dayton Township, Hennepin County, Minnesota to the late Francis "Frank" & Gladys (Dallman) Bauers. He enlisted in the United States Army on November 15, 1949 and was honorably discharged on February 2, 1953. Following his military service, he returned to Minneapolis and married Barbara Hanson and had five children, Steve, Diana, Connie, Rhonda and Del Jr. Shortly after, the couple purchased Bauers Food Market on Hennepin Avenue. In 1990, Del was united in marriage to Joyce Davis along with her children, Lisa and Jodi. Del and Joyce owned and operated a number of bars in central Minnesota, most recently in Little Falls. Del enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, gambling, shooting pool, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce; children, Steve (Pam) Bauers, Diana (Chip) Bauers, Connie Nelson, Rhonda (Tom) Borresch, Del (Sandi) Bauers, Jr., Lisa (Frazier) Davis and Jodi (John) Davis; siblings, Lorraine Kuehn, Marlys Dehn, Richard "Dick" Bauers, Waneta Norton, Marjorie Tondryk and LeRoy "Lee" Bauers; grandchildren, Nichole, Zack, Sarah, Jake, Travis, Jason, Lexy and Jasmine; eight great-grandchildren; godsons, Ron Tondryk and Delmar Dehn and many other relatives and friends. Del was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Betty Bauers; siblings, Ruth Hanson and Betty Reiman and grandson, Ryan Bauers.
