Deanne Gavigan

Deanne (Vaverek) Gavigan, age 63, of South St. Paul, MN, formerly of Little Falls, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (southeast chapel) in Little Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:30 - 6:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Deanne Marie Vaverek was born on November 4, 1945 in Little Falls the daughter of Roman & Stella (Lyshik) Vaverek. She grew up in Little Falls where she graduated from high school and then graduated beauty school in St. Cloud. She was employed at Cora's Beauty Salon in Little Falls before moving to St. Paul where she worked at Mr. Richard's and Antonio's . She married James Gavigan on August 25, 1973. The couple lived most of their married life in South St. Paul. Deanne enjoyed reading, bowling, casino hopping, and spending time with her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Gavigan of So. St. Paul; mother, Stella Vaverek of Little Falls; siblings, Jacquelyn M. Jensen of Sartell, Wayne (Diana) Vaverek of Cushing, Fay (Steven) Grams of Little Falls, Linda (Bobby Pietz) Drong of Waite Park, Alan (Brenda) Vaverek of Little Falls and many nieces and nephews. Deanne was preceded in death by her father, Roman Vaverek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to American Cancer Research.
