David L. Bauer, age 83, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery in Buckman, MN.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. There will be a Christian Mothers Rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers 6:30 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus St. Isidore Council #3982 Office of the Dead at 7:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 30th from 9:00 10:00 a.m.
David was born on January 4, 1932, in Bellevue Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the son of Leo Cecilia (Karash) Bauer. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and was a Korean War Veteran. On April 8, 1958, he married Violet Brausen at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz. The couple lived in Buckman for 26 years and currently in Little Falls. David worked for Crestliner in Little Falls for 10 years and Hennepin Paper in Little Falls for 32 years. He enjoyed making crafts, playing cards, fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. His family will cherish the memories of his kind and loving heart. David was a member of the Pierz-Buckman Knights of Columbus St. Isidore Council #3982 and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Violet of Little Falls; children, Debbie (Ken) Meyer of Little Falls, Denise (Ricky) Hoheisel of Pierz, Darla (John) Schefers of Richmond, Danita (Luke) Maurer of Brainerd, Daryl (Bobbi Jo) Bauer of Little Falls, and Dawn (Loren) Bobick of Little Falls; siblings, Pat Kinzer of Babbitt and Joanne (Cliff) Hoheisel of Babbitt; 14 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Paulette Bauer, Doris Bauer and Maxine Bauer and French foreign exchange granddaughter, Camille Pennaneach.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Cecilia (Karash) Bauer; children, Dean and Diane Bauer; step-grandson, Adam Bobick; brothers, Arnold, Donald, John, Allen, and James Bauer; brother-in-law, Richard Kinzer, and sister-in-law, Arlene Bauer.
