Darleen Anna Carlson

Darleen A. Carlson, age 80 of St. Cloud, MN and formerly of Little Falls, MN passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Care Free Living Center in St. Cloud. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, 900 1st Street SE, in Little Falls. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9-10AM at the funeral chapel. Darleen Anna Carlson was born July 15, 1928 in Isle, Mille Lacs County, MN to the late William and Alvina (Geidd) Lancrain. As a young girl she lived in Isle, MN where she attended school. At the age of 12 years, Darleen became deaf and attended the Faribault School for the Deaf. She was united in marriage to Donald O. Carlson on July 20, 1949. Following their marriage, Darleen and Donald traveled and worked throughout the United States harvesting fruit. The couple moved to Isle, MN where they lived for 17 years. In 1977, Darleen & Donald moved to Little Falls. Donald died February 28, 1998. Darleen continued to live in Little Falls at the Pine Grove Manor. In 2005, she moved to the Care Free Living Center in St. Cloud residing there until her death. She enjoyed flowers, rummage sales, reading, collecting things, embroidering, and working on puzzle books. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God and the Philadelphia Church of God. Darlene is survived by her children, Rhoda (Raymond) Rotzien of Farmington, MN, John (Nancy) Carlson of Little Falls, MN, James Carlson of Randall, MN and Lois (John) Campbell of St. Cloud, MN; sisters, Gladys Reinke of Kentucky and Alice Etter of Isle, MN; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; daughter, Ruth; parents,William & Alvina Lancrain; daughter, Rebekah (Carlson) Blegen in 1999 and siblings, Henry, Charles, Clarence & James Lancrain and Mildred Chezk. Casket Bearers are Joel Erickson, Jay Erickson, Tim FredinDee, Roderick Rotzien, Kevin Rotzien, Joshua Rotzien, Jason Erickson and Lucas Campbell.
